Houthi Ballistic Missile Attack Targets Aden, Causing Property Damage
The interim Yemeni capital of Aden was targeted by a ballistic missile strike launched by Houthi forces early Friday, resulting in material damage to civilian and military infrastructure in the city’s western sector.
Field sources confirmed that while air defense systems successfully intercepted several projectiles, others struck areas surrounding a coalition forces headquarters in the Buraiqa district. The impact of the missiles caused significant property damage, including structural harm to a facility owned by the Star Cement company and several nearby residential buildings.
Journalist Fathi Ben Lazraq reported that initial information indicates the missiles were launched from elevated positions within the Al-Qa'idah region of Ibb Governorate. Local residents reported hearing a series of at least five consecutive explosions echoing across the city as air defenses engaged the incoming threats.
While investigations into the aftermath are ongoing, there have been no immediate reports of casualties resulting from the strike. The incident underscores a broader escalation in military hostilities across various fronts in Yemen as confrontations between government forces and the Iran-backed Houthi militia continue to intensify.
