Yemeni National Fatally Stabbed in Somali Mosque During Friday Prayers

A Yemeni national, identified as Fikri Hassan Al-Musbahi, was fatally stabbed inside a mosque in Somalia while performing Friday prayers, according to his brother, Mohammed Hassan Al-Musbahi.

Mohammed Al-Musbahi stated that his family received the news of his brother's death with profound sorrow and grief, describing the incident as a horrific and shocking crime that violates the sanctity of human life and a house of worship.

He explained that his brother had previously worked at the Al-Mansoura power station in Aden before relocating to Somalia to work for an electricity company, seeking a livelihood to support his family. He was known for his good character and reputation among those who knew him.

According to the family's account, a Somali national allegedly stabbed Fikri Hassan Al-Musbahi multiple times inside the mosque, resulting in his death.

The Al-Musbahi family has strongly condemned the incident and urged the Somali authorities to launch an immediate and transparent investigation to uncover the circumstances and motives behind the crime, bring the perpetrator to justice, and ensure accountability.

The family also called upon relevant Yemeni authorities, the Yemeni embassy, and the company the deceased was employed by to follow up on the case and coordinate with Somali officials to achieve justice and protect the rights of the victim and his family.

Furthermore, they requested the swift completion of necessary procedures to repatriate the body to Yemen for burial among his family and loved ones.

The family emphasized that they seek justice and the rule of law, not vengeance, considering the incident an affront to the dignity of Yemeni citizens and their right to life and security while abroad.
